Obituary for Tammy Millhouse-Congress (Millhouse)

Tammy Denise
Millhouse Congress
January 31, 1968 - June 1, 2022
Affectionately known as “Yaya”

On June 1, 2022 -
The Angels of God whispered:
"Tammy, come now and take your rest.”
Tammy Denise Millhouse Congress was born January 31, 1968
to the late Katherine Pettway Millhouse and L.C. Millhouse. She
departed this earthly life on Wednesday, June 1, 2022.
She was a graduate of the Class of 1986 at Theodore High School.
She furthered her education at Bishop State Community College,
the University of South Alabama and Remington College. She was
an employee of the City of Mobile.

Tammy dealt with her fair share of health challenges, but she
fought fiercely and gracefully until God saw fit to call her home.
Tammy aka “YaYa” loved her children and grandchildren dearly
and loved to cook and eat almost as much. Inherited from her
mother, Tammy had a mean green thumb and often teased her
sister Lavoris for her lack of one. She always had a joke to crack
and a story to share.

She is preceded in death by her siblings: Willie Catherine Roche,
Ricardo P. Roche, and Lance C. Millhouse.
Tammy is survived by her maternal aunt, Emerine Banks; two
children: Shanice (Carlous) King and Ricardo J. Millhouse; three
grandchildren: Hilarie Denise Millhouse, Ava King and Carter
King; her sisters: Learane Millhouse and Lavoris (Claude) Cooks;
and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

“Her bright spirit (and potato salad) will surely be missed.”

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes;
and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow,
nor crying, neither shall there be any more
pain: for the former things are passed away.
Revelation 21:4
