Obituary for Sylvia Ellis (Ward)
Sylvia Ann Ward-Ellis, a native of Alabama and a resident of Lake Charles, Louisiana, was born on January 15, 1962 and left this life for eternity on Saturday, January 4, 2020.
She was born to the late Jessie McCorvey Sr., and Geraldine Ward-Easter.
Sylvia was a member of The Lord's Outreach while residing in Lake Charles.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father: Charles Easter of Grand Bay, AL; grandparents: Tommy and Elvira Moore of Fernland, AL; and sister: Vivian McCorvey-Hayes of St. Martin, MS.
She leaves to cherish her memories four children: Curtis Robinson, Jr. of Grand Bay, AL, Gail Robinson (Terence Mark) and Tyra Melancon (Chris Faison) both of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Patricia Ward of Grand Bay, AL; grandchildren: Dedrick Lawson of Grand Bay, AL, Keenan Robinson, Bryson Robinson, Alex Armstrong, Dutty Armstrong, Aaliah Armstrong and Riley Melancon all of Lake Charles, Louisiana; a host of other family members and friends.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, January 17, 2020 from 4pm to 6pm at Gulf Coast Cremation and Funerals (by Small’s) located at 7000 Bellingrath Road, Mobile, AL. and continue on Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 11am until the1pm "Homegoing Celebration" at Sweet Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 8555 Sweet Bethel Drive West, Coden, AL. Interment will follow in Fernland Cemetery.
