Obituary for Ocie Harbin

Ocie Anne Townsend Harbin age 72 passed away Friday, February 11th, 2022, after a courageous, determined, hard fought battle with cancer. She was born March, 16th, 1949, in Mobile, AL to parents John William Townsend and Shirley Roche Townsend who preceded her in death.

She is survived by Paul Leland Harbin, her husband of 45 years; sons: John L. Harbin (Melissa) and Larry T. Harbin (Jackie); grandchildren: Piper Renee Harbin, Michael Paul Harbin, Holly Anne Harbin, Paige Dianne Harbin, and Penny Blythe Harbin; sisters: Rebecca Townsend Kearns (Larry), and Shelley Townsend Waugh (Keven); nieces: Michelle K. Sens (Burnell), Karen K. Rhodes (Robi), and Kelly K. Dubuisson (Johnny), and nephews: Robert L. Bishop (Julie) and William T. Bishop; and her puppy: Jasmine.

Ocie was a charter member of Cottage Hill Presbyterian Church where she served faithfully in many positions including Elder. She volunteered regularly for Sunday school, and sang in the choir for most of her time with the Church. She retired from BLP Mobile Paint after more than twenty years of dedicated service in accounts payable. Her family was her greatest love but second were her pets who brightened her day as much as she did theirs. Ocie was one of the most positive, cheerful, and devoted people you would ever meet.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held Saturday, February 19th, 2022 at 10am with Cottage Hill Presbyterian Church, 4201 Cottage Hill Road, Mobile, AL 36609.
