Marilyn Knight Hunter
April 13, 1956 - November 7, 2022
On November 7, 2022 - The Angels of God whispered: "Marilyn, come now and take your rest.” Sister Marilyn Knight Hunter, a longtime Alabama Native of the Dawes Community was born April 13, 1956 to Cleveland and Sherry Knight. She peacefully transitioned this life for eternal rest in her heavenly home on Monday, November 7, 2022.
Marilyn confessed Christ at an early age and united with Magnolia Baptist Church. She served faithfully on the Usher Board and as a Sunday School Teacher over the years.
Marilyn was a graduate of Baker High School and Dillard University where she received a Bachelor Degree in Accounting. She worked for the City of Mobile for thirty years until she retired in 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleveland and Sherry Knight; husband, Jerry Hunter. Marilyn leaves to cherish her precious memories, her devoted son, Myckale (Brandi) Knight; two grandchildren: Kendall and Kalei Knight; four brothers: Clayton (Shirley) Knight, Eric (Alice) Knight, Dewayne Knight and Andre Knight; two
sisters: Wendy Trenier and Mary Daily; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as her devoted friends: Cheryl Broughton, Taryn Williams, Ricky Hall, Tommie Major and Louethel Whittle.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
