Obituary for Gregory Easley

Gregory Easley was born September 25, 1955 to the late Luther and Annie Mae Easley in Mount Clemens, Michigan. He entered into enternal rest on September 22, 2019. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife; Emma, parents, one brother; Luther Easley, Jr and one sister; Janice Chatman.

Gregory excelled in track and field in high school graduating with honors. Then he began his military career in 1978 to 1983 in the United States Army. He seperated in 1983 with an Honorable Discharge.

Continuing employment in various trades he later received a certificate in 1994 for commerical blocklaying earning a 4.0 GPA. Afterwards, he began working at Stiener Shipyard providing for his new wife and children.

In 2017, after many years as a faithful employee, he retired from Huntington Ingalls Industries as a shipfitter.

On July 21, 1996, Gregory married his soulmate; Emma Easley. Together this union connected 5 children, Gregory Easley Jr , Jacoby Easley, Franko Carter, Maurice Carter and Antionette (Christopher) McCreary.

Gregory lost his love, Emma on June 1, 2016. However, there is no doubt about the love they shared. Gregory continued to show love to so many by providing shelter, lending money and showing unconditional love.

He leaves many memories to his devoted sister, Shirley Ann Mitchell , Nazarine O’Neal and Jeanette Stevens all from Michigan. Two brothers, James Easley of Fayette, NC and Earnest Easley of Mt. Clemens, MI. Several sister and brother in laws, grandchildren; Gregory III, Talecia, Jacoby, Jr., Jabari, Jaloni, Jeremiah, Josiah, Terrance, Tatyana, Christopher Jr., Emoni, Maurice, Mason, Kalayni, Emma, Crisleigh, a host of nieces and nephews, 3 God daughters; Donna Sanders, Dominique Nelson and Madisynn “Buttons” Nelson, one god son, Ralph Richardson and a devoted cousin, Melvina Wanzer.

We will truely,miss Gregory’s saying “ No doubt!” For this phrase has continously encouraged many to achieve dreams that most of us could only imagine. He would make anyone feel welcome with a “Hey babe” greeting! Last but not least he was a provider, clean cut man and a sharp dresser that always matched his wife!

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. funeral hour at Warmwood Baptist Church located at 10251 McGehee Road, Grand Bay, Alabama.
Interment will follow in Fernland Cemetery in Grand Bay, AL.
