Obituary for Gertrude Robbins

Gertrude Kyles Robbins, longtime resident of Bayou La Batre, AL, transitioned to eternal rest Tuesday, October 6, 2020 in Mobile, AL. Gertrude was born June 7, 1925 as the 7th child of Ben and Allie Kyles in Tunnel Springs, AL.

Gertrude was predeceased by her husband: Aubrey Robbins, Sr.; her sons: Johnnie Smith, Sr. and Aubrey Robbins, Jr.; and grandson Frederick Smith.

Gertrude adored her siblings: Suffer Lee Kyles, Ruth Kyles Beasley, Buster Kyles, Betty Kyles Bland, Albert James Kyles, Zelma Kyles Richardson, and Lucille Kyles Morrissette all predeceased her.

She leaves her cherished love to her four daughters: Annie Anderson of Salisbury, MD; Beverly (Lester)Robbins- Contras; Barbara (LeBaron)Robbins-Carter both of Bayou La Batre, AL and Patricia Renee’(Noel) Robbins-Bilbo of Pascagoula, MS.; two sons; Michael (Rosie) Robbins of Bayou La Batre and Tony (Phyllis) Robbins of St. Elmo, AL.; one daughter-in-law: Winifred Coleman-Robbins; (21) Grandchildren; (37) Great-Great Grandchildren; (21) Great-Great- Great Grandchildren; a devoted daughter-in-love: Phyllis Jones-Robbins; devoted niece: Novella Beasley; two god-sons: Willie Banks, and Rydarrian Bowie; a special caregiver: Regina Slater; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Her remains will lie in state on Friday, October 16, 2020 from 3pm until 5pm at Gulf Coast Cremation and Funerals.

The “Celebration Of Life” Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 11am, Odd Fellows Cemetery in Bayou La Batre, Alabama.
