Obituary for Dan Walker Jr.
Pastor Dan West Walker, Jr. was born February 16, 1965 and departed this life for his eternal home on Tuesday, August 25, 2020.
He spent many hours preparing sermons and loved the Lord with all his heart. He was the Pastor of Power of Faith Church Ministries and was planning to build a new church home later this year.
He was the 32nd Degree Free Mason at St. John Lodge #1 and the owner of Nazareth Home Improvements.
Dan was preceded in death by his grandparents: Eli and Lula Shinn; his parents: Dan West Walker, Sr. and Mary Shinn Walker; one sister: Dannie Blanks; four brothers: David Walker, Eugene Walker, Sylvester Walker and Lewis Walker; one brother-in-law: Eric W. Finley; and three aunts: Ellaree Chambers, Mary Shinn and May Frances Rasberry.
He leaves to cherish his fondest memories, five sisters: Dianne (Stanley) Clark, Jessica (Lester) Chastang, Edwina (Christopher) Walker, Betty Walker all of Mobile, AL and Retha Cotton of Homer, Louisiana; four brothers: Lawrence Walker, Larry Walker Jimmie (Lucresia) Walker, and Robert Walker all of Mobile, AL. A host of nieces and dedicated nephews to whom he spent most of his life mentoring, a host of cousins, two special: Nolan and Lula Tolmin, other relatives and many, many special lifelong friends, a few very special: Andre Stallworth, Joaquin Wilson, Michael Huff, Billy Ray Davis, Dewayne Ward and Eric McNeal.
A Homegoing Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020 beginning at 11am, Sure Word Ministries, 902 Dunlap Circle, Prichard, AL, Pastor Archie Rankins, Officiating.
