Obituary for Curtis Hill

Mr. Curtis Lee Hill, affectionately known as, “Cooter”. A resident of Mobile, AL was born on November 30, 1950 in Chance, AL to the late James Hill, Sr. and Bertha Mae Foney. He quietly departed this life on Thursday, April 1, 2021. In 1979, he began working as a painter at Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, MS. He retired as a Master Shipbuilder in 2018 after 40 years of dedicated service.

He was preceded in death by his parents: James (Almeda) Hill Sr. and mother: Bertha Mae Foney; brother: Robert Lee Hill, and sister: Carolyn Longmire.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted wife: Jennifer Hill of Mobile, AL; one son: Jeffery (Loubna); three grandchildren: Ameera, Ishwara, and Jalen Edwards all of Mobile, AL; five brothers: James Hill, Jr., Ernest Hill of Mobile, AL; Terry (Hazel) Hill of Mount Vernon, AL; Gregory (Beverly) Hill of Saraland, AL and Darryl (Deborah) Hill of Harvest, AL; five sisters: Rosemary (Minister Billy) Reed; Helen Stallworth, Shirley (Elder Rollen) Edwards, Kathy Hill Obiorah, all of Mobile, AL and Dianne (Leon) Bolden of Mount Vernon; brother-in-law: Wayne Longmire of Waynesboro, MS; one aunt: Mable Perryman of Mobile, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021, 9am until the 11am "Celebration Of Life" Service at the Church Of God In Christ Pentecostal located at 818 Telegraph Road, Prichard, Alabama.

The Interment will take place in the Whispering Pines Cemetery located in Eight Mile, Alabama.
