Mrs. Alice Cook Boyd was born to the late Mr. Sam and Florence Elizabeth Irby Cook in Camden,
Wilcox County, Alabama. She was the 5th child of eight children.

'When I was a child .... " 1st Corinthians 13:11

She attended school in Camden, AL.

Upon moving to Mobile, AL she united with St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church, in 1960. A strong, God-fearing woman and dedicated servant, she served faithfully in many capacities of the church until her health began to fail: Sunday School Teacher, #2 Choir, and Senior Mission Board.

"I will come again and receive you unto myself. .. " John 14:3
On Thursday, August 19, 2021, she entered eternal rest at her daughter residence, . Theodore, AL.

"Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted." Matthew 5:4

Loved ones left to cherish the fond memories of Alice rich, life-long legacy include:five children:
Gwendolyn Mangum, Fayetteville, NC, Annie (Joseph)Washington, Theodore AL; Abraham (Annie) Powell, Cleveland, OR., Gloria Powell, Tuskegee, AL; Orlando L. (Sharon) Boyd, Mobile, AL devoted niece, Dorothy (Ledell) Pettway. Very special and devoted granddaughters, Wendolyn and LaTasha Washington.Ten granchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and a host of great great grandchildren. A devoted friend Mrs. Earnestine Pritchette, goddaughter, Geralyn Coleman. A multitude of nieces, nephews, church family and friends.

Her remains will lie in state on Friday, August 27, 2021, from 9am until the 11am “Celebration Of Life” Service at St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church, 661 South Broad Street in Mobile, Alabama.

Interment will follow in Gethsemane North Cemetery.
