Deacon Alex Armstrong, born September 6, 1936, departed this life for his eternal home on Friday, January 8, 2021, at a local Healthcare facility. He was a resident of Bayou La Batre, AL and a native of Darien, Georgia.

He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife of 50 years: June Royal Armstrong of Bayou La Batre, AL; two sons: Anthony (Karen) Armstrong of Fort Meyers, FL and Edward Alexander (Penelope) of McDonough, GA; one adopted nephew: Delbert (Jessica) Jones of Anchorage, Alaska; two sisters: Dorothy Copeland and Juanita Coster both of Miami, FL; three devoted nephews: Luther (Ann) Ferguson of Fort Myers, FL, Willie (Minister Jackie) Armstrong of Atlanta, GA; Louis (Chimere) Clemons of Bayou La Batre, AL; sisters-in-law: Elsie Armstrong of Darien, GA, Loretta Royal Hall of District Height, MD; Nancy Mc Call, Janice Clemons both of Coden, AL, Ruth Robinson of Grand Bay, AL, Elizabeth Royal of Evergreen, AL, Debra Royal of Mobile, AL; brothers-in-law: Kenneth Royalmof Mobile, AL, William Wright of Irvington, AL, Nathaniel Royal of Evergreen, AL, Willie Royal of Mobile, AL, Darryll McMilliam of Monroe County, Corey Purifoy of Coden, AL and Ralph West of Atmore, AL; a host of other family members and friends.

A public viewing will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 10am until 11am, Gulf Coast Cremation and Funerals, (7000 Bellingrath Road)

The “Celebration Of Life" Service followed by Interment will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021, 12:30 p.m., Alabama State Veterans Cemetery, Spanish Fort, AL.
